Zayed bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Rashid (Kabier: زايد بن محمد بن خليفة آل رشيد ‎) (25 November 1918 - 18 November 2004), was the second King of the Kingdom of Abbasid, a post which he held for over 36 years (1968–2004). King Zayed is commonly referred to as the "Father of Modern Abbasid", due to his liberal policies that lead to the development of Abbasid from a stagnant theocracy into a secular, multi-cultural state.
