The Alcadean Union, commonly known as the AU, is an organization of 25 Western Althenan nations. The AU's main purposes are to promote economic integration and cooperation among its members, to ensure that the benefits of integration are equitably shared, and to coordinate foreign policy. Its major activities involve coordinating economic policies and development planning; devising and instituting special projects for the less-developed countries within its jurisdiction; operating as a regional single market for many of its members (Alcadean Single Market); and handling regional trade disputes. The secretariat headquarters is based in Braavos, Sinope.

The Alcadean Union has developed a single market through a standardized system of laws that apply in all member states (full and associate). Passport controls have been abolished between member states. AU policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital, enact legislation in justice and home affairs, and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries, and regional development. The monetary union was established in 1992 and came into full force in 1996. It is currently composed of 8 member states that use the Lagos as their legal tender.

Membership

Currently the Alcadean Union has 11 full members, 4 associate members and 10 observers. Associate members are taking part in the single market only. The observers are states which engage in at least one of the AU's technical committees.
